Team Hawaii Leads the World Rankings at the ISA World Junior Games In Peru Print E-mail
fpteamHonolulu, HI (May 26, 2011) By the fifth day of competition at the 2011 ISA World Junior Games presented by Quiksilver, Team Hawaii remains at the front of the pack in the overall rankings with a number of surfers still vying for medal finishes.

With a bay boasting clean, 3-foot surf, the race toward podium has tightened with Team Hawaii narrowly edging out the US and Australia to hold the lead position at the games.

With a number of Hawaiian surfers setting the bar, Honolulu’s own Zeke Lau has set himself apart at the games with his characteristic aggressive and seamless approach in the lineup. Lau’s showing has seen him progress to the fourth round of the Men’s Under 18 Qualifying division.

In the Boy’s Under 16 Repercharge rounds, Kaoli Kahokuloa, Koa Smith, and Ian Gentil have survived as well and will be seeded into Round 5 when competition commences tomorrow.

For the girls, Tatiana Weston-Web, Mahina Maeda, and Brianna Cope have all fought their ways to Round 5 in the Qualifying Division as well and have put on blisteringly sharp performances.
